Food for thought at Fruit Focus 2022

This year at Fruit Focus, Barn4's George Crane hosted a session about sustainable agritech start-ups at the Growing Kent & Medway Sustainability Hub. The session was focused on inspiring start-ups operating in the agri-food and technology sector; this included four Barn4 members. Petiole, Lambda Energy, ANTOBOT and Gardin.

Maryna from Petiole reported, "the event was an excellent opportunity to catch up with the industry and meet people whom I have known for a few years but due to COVID restrictions, unable to meet in person. Growing Kent & Medway did a great job organising a central hub with discussions of agritech innovation. As always, we thank Barn4 for an opportunity to speak at the event and represent our solution for strawberry yield prediction with a smartphone." Niall from Lambda Energy added, "being a member of Barn4 has enabled Lambda Energy to fill the gaps in knowledge of plant science and industry requirements. It has opened vital connections to the farming industry that wouldn't have been available; for example, we recently presented our technology to Fruit Focus and connected with major UK growers who are now willing to pilot our technology".
